Why can't I just play the radio or my iPod in my store/restaurant/office?
Many small businesses just play a commercial radio station in their store. There are public performance rights to pay to SOCAN and other collective societies for playing a radio station in a public place. These rights will vary depending on the size of the establishment, the type of establishment, and the number of people in the establishment. The same rights are required for playing a personal iPod or even CDs in a public place. Many small business owners are probably not aware of these rights, and many just play radio or CDs without paying the rights. Stingray360's music service pricing always includes the payment of all necessary rights for use of background music.
Is the music on the music channels the songs by the real artists, or just elevator music?
Stingray360 offers a wide selection of channels specifically programmed for different commercial environments. All of the channels feature the original versions of all of the songs. All necessary rights and fees are paid to the rights holders of the music. Stingray360 can also work with you to develop a custom program that will be specifically tailored to your brand and the experience you want to create within your commercial space.

What kind of equipment is needed?
